Our Goals

The Legislative Studies Institute seeks to

1. Bring legislative leaders together to discuss issues of mutual interest, including issues of legislative leadership, ways and means of strengthening their respective democratic institutions.

2. Promote open dialogue and greater understanding between legislative leaders through exchange programs, educational programs and correspondence globally.

3. Conduct educational programs for legislators in concert with colleges and universities.
   

4. Facilitate bilateral sister-to-sister partnership of legislative bodies.

5. Address the need for both institutional capacity-building of legislatures and broadening of citizen participation in the legislative process through training, research and advocacy.
   
   

Expertise

LSI utilizes the expertise of many professionals including our staff and principals, associates, and a network of university faculties, private consultants and government officials to develop its programs and activities.
LSI is dedicated to facilitating the training of government legislators through educational exchange programs and internships and strengthening mutual understanding of policy issues between legislators globally. Platforms are thus created for groups of legislators from different nations to meet for discussions and action initiatives.
